Duane Martin Livestock started in 1964 in Milpitas, CA.  Duane Martin Sr. bought his father’s 20 cows and leased the ranch.  For the next 20 years Duane worked a full-time job while growing his cow herd.  Most of that time was behind the wheel of a cement mixer, driving truck.  In 1972, he moved the family to a little ranch in Acampo, CA.  He continued to drive truck while growing his cow herd until he got the opportunity to learn the order buying side of the cattle industry.  He never looked back, growing his cow herd to its’ peak of nearly 10,000 mother cows and 17,000 stockers along with ownership in a feedyard in Colorado.

Today Martin Livestock is two separate entities (Duane Martin Livestock and Duane Martin Jr Livestock) that work in tandem to operate a progressive and efficient large scale cow calf and stocker operation in the western U.S.  We retain ownership on most of our calves and yearlings through the feedyard, and feed them with custom cattle feeders in Colorado and Nebraska.
